Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Bookish Settings I’d Love to Visit. One of the best things about good books is their ability to transport the reader to imaginative worlds.
Hogwarts – Harry Potter series
I have a feeling that the magical wizarding world of Harry Potter will appear on quite a few lists this week. 🙂
Pemberley – Pride and Prejudice
Where else would one find Mr Darcy! And of course his library. 😍
Hogsmeade – Harry Potter series
This delightful village has many shops, including the fun sweet shop Honeydukes.
Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory – Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
So many yummy concoctions.
Thornfield Hall – Jane Eyre
A dark gothic mansion which reminds me of the castle from Beauty and the Beast.
Winterfell – A Song of Ice and Fire series
The cool castle and home of House Stark.
Khorasan – The Wrath and the Dawn
I adored the setting of this novel which is in the ancient Persian empire of Khorasan.
Gatsby’s Mansion – The Great Gatsby
If I had the chance to go to Gatsby’s extravagant parties in his mansion, I’d acknowledge the host. Who’s with me?
Wonderland – Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
This is probably the ultimate topsy-turvy land.
The Secret Garden – The Secret Garden
The enchanting garden in the Yorkshire Moors which is also home to a smart robin.
Which bookish settings would you love to visit? Do they feature on this list? Let me know in the comments and feel free to link your Top Ten Tuesday post!
Totally agree with you on Thornfield Hall and Winterfell. Both would be amazing. I can’t believe I didn’t think of Gatsby’s mansion. That would be amazing!

Pemberley is one of my FAVORITE fictional settings, and Pride and Prejudice is my favorite classic of all time. I love England in the 1800s and the gorgeous landscapes. Any authors that wrote during the same period as Jane Austen fascinate me, but Thornfield Hall and Mr. Rochester gave me weird feelings when I read Jane Eyre. The gothic setting was cool, though. AMAZING post!!

Thank you! Pride and Prejudice is my favourite novel so I had to include Pemberley. It would be cool to visit and explore Thornfield Hall, although I’m not sure if I would want to stay there overnight!
Can’t wait to see your list!

Would definitely want to go to Pemberley and the Chocolate Factory! And Middle Earth (especially all the elven cities). And the seven ancient wonders Jack West discovers in the Matthew Reilly series.

I really need to read Lord of the Rings! I haven’t come across the Matthew Reilly series yet, but it sounds intriguing!

Lord of the Rings is great fun… I admit I found the Frodo and Gollum bits hard to get through, but I love the parts about Eowyn and Faramir that aren’t in the movie 🙂 Matthew Reilly is great – I don’t normally go for action novels but his I’d read and keep turning the pages!

I could definitely see myself hanging out with friends in the Three Broomsticks drinking Butterbeer 🙂

I had Hogsmeade and Winterfell on my list too! And I can’t believe I forgot about the Secret Garden, I always wanted to go when I was a kid! I sounded so magical and beautiful. Great choices! 🙂

This list is so wonderful! I cannot believe that I didn’t think about the secret garden. I would have to visit there. I would also love to visit Hogsmeade and wander in all the shops!

Hogwarts and Hogsmeade are definitely there. I don’t think I’ll visit Winterfell though. I wouldn’t like to be in the middle of any wars. Gatsby’s mansion is also a good setting but I wouldn’t go there too many times. Lol

I couldn’t leave out Hogwarts and Hogsmeade! You’re right, Winterfell would be hectic at most times, lol. And Gatsby’s mansion would be nice to visit at least once, but I wouldn’t party too hard! 🙂
