Wrap Up: September 2020

Wrap Up Floral

Hello everyone! Autumn is here and I miss Summer already haha. On the bright side, when the weather starts to get chilly I love to curl up with a good book. September was an okay reading month and I am looking forward to checking out some spooky stories in October.

Books Read

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson ⭐⭐⭐

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas has been on my Goodreads Want to Read shelf the longest (since 2013!) Whilst I’m happy to have crossed this book off the TBR, I actually can’t remember why it was there in the first place. It’s about a journalist and his attorney who go on a drug-fuelled road trip in search of the American Dream. Hunter S. Thompson is a good writer, but I didn’t really connect with the story. The two main characters seemed to terrify every person who crossed their path. It’s a little similar to A Clockwork Orange, although I preferred that book to this one.

Virtually Yours by Jeremy Holt ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Virtually Yours is a graphic novel version of a romantic comedy with a modern day twist. I loved the artwork and there is a lot of diversity. Even though the story was quite predictable, I enjoyed reading this. Hopefully, I can write a full review soon.
