Thank you to Amanda @ Peaks and Pages for nominating me for the Blogger Recognition Award. This is my second nomination for this award and I’m very grateful! Please go check out her blog!

  • Write a post to show your award.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  • Select 15 other bloggers you’d like to give this award to.

How my blog started:

During a visit back to my secondary school in 2013, it was my English teacher who gave me the advice to start a book blog. At the time, I remember saying, “What if no one reads it?” So much self-doubt! I had been thinking about book blogging for a while, but I was a little wary. I decided to follow the advice and I’m so glad that I did. If you have a passion for something whether it’s books, baking or fashion, and you want to start a blog then go for it!

Advice for new bloggers:

  1. Creating your own graphics for your blog is a superb way to add a personalized look and feel. Canva is a great (mostly free) graphic design tool. You can use this site to make a custom blog header and more.
  2. Don’t worry about stats. I know this is easier said than done! When I first began blogging, I only posted book reviews around once a month. My blog didn’t have many views. After a while, I decided to take part in weekly memes and posted more often. This resulted in more views. Remember that getting traffic takes time and patience.

  6. Thanks so much for the nomination! Canva is something I use for school all the time and I don’t know why it hasn’t occurred to me to use it for my blog haha.

  7. Thank you so much! I love how your blog started that is really cool, teachers are awesome!
    Admittedly I am terrible at doing these tag award things but I really should just compile a big post and recognize everybody who has recognize me and thank you so much again for that! It is so appreciated!
