Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish that is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is Favourite Book Quotes. I love a good book quote! Here is a list of some of my favourites, ranging from the classics to Young Adult.

“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”
― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

“… a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge.”
― George R.R. Martin,
 A Game of Thrones

“What’s the point of having a voice if you’re gonna be silent in those moments you shouldn’t be?”
― Angie Thomas, The Hate U Give

“I stand and hold out my hand. She gives me a skeptical look, but takes it and lets me pull her to her feet. I put my other hand in the air. ‘Bronwyn Rojas, I solemnly swear not to murder you today or at any point in the future. Deal?’
‘You’re ridiculous,’ she mutters, going even redder.
‘It concerns me you’re avoiding a promise not to murder me.’”
― Karen M. McManus, One of Us Is Lying

“You won’t find someone who treats you as you should be treated until you start to believe you are worth the ones you want, the ones who aren’t asking you to do any work. Find the man who appreciates you at your best, not one who confirms your worst suspicions about yourself.”
― Mhairi McFarlane, Who’s That Girl?

“I would always rather be happy than dignified.”
― Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

“We accept the love we think we deserve.”
― Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower

“You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how.”
― Margaret Mitchell, Gone with the Wind

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen. The man who never reads lives only one.”
― George R.R. Martin, A Dance with Dragons

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.”
― Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird

What are your favourite book quotes? Do they feature on this list? Let me know in the comments and feel free to link your Top Ten Tuesday post!
