WWW Wednesday #3: 2nd August 2017

www-wednesday-shazreadsWWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. All you need to do is answer the three questions below and leave a link on Sam’s post.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Let’s get started!

What are you currently reading?

32800810

Custard Tarts and Broken Hearts by Mary Gibson. This is a historical fiction novel which follows the life of Bermondsey factory girl, Nellie Clark, from the strikes of 1911 through to the First World War. It offers a fascinating and enjoyable insight into an era which I don’t know that much about.

What did you recently finish reading?

The Woman at Number 24

The Woman at Number 24 by Juliet Ashton. I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway and it’s an interesting read about a group of five different families living in the same house and how their lives intertwine. Check out my review here.

73802I also read The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark. I remember catching a glimpse of the film starring Maggie Smith when it was shown on TV a while back, and I’m glad I’ve had a chance to read the book now. It’s a very quick read and I’m still not sure if I love or hate Miss Jean Brodie!

What do you think you’ll read next?

15995978

Maybe something by Philippa Gregory. I really enjoyed The Cousins’ War series but I have yet to read any of her Tudor Court novels. I think I’ll read them chronologically and start with The Constant Princess which is told from the point of view of Katherine of Aragon.

Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments and feel free to link your WWW Wednesday post!
